Old Business:
The Last Minutes were approved and the Treasurers Report was read by Cap Wallrich, Temporary Treasurer for today’s meeting.

New Business:
The club had a good attendance for this meeting. The upcoming following events for the club were discussed by the club members.

Rita Rottier,D.V.M., Coggins -- on Feb. 20th,Dr. Rita Rottier will be doing coggins on John and Rita Mondus’ farm. Rita Mondus needs to know if anyone is interested in having their horse’s coggins done by Dr. Rita Rottier, to contact Rita Mondus as she needs to know how many coggins papers will be needed to fill out ahead of time. The price is $18 a horse which is less expensive than a home vet call. Also, Dr. Rita Rottier will vaccinate cats and dogs.

Dancing with Horses -- on Feb 27, 2010, (see website calendar for this event) was discussed regarding who will be attending this event.
At this time, there will be 10 people going. Rita says she has 10 extra free tickets if anyone is interested in these tickets, please contact:

Desensitizing and Fun Day Clinic, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. This clinic will be like last year at John and Rita Mondus’ farm. Jackie Pues will gather names of volunteers. Please let Jackie know if you can help, Jackie.a.pues@gulfstream.com.

Midwest Horse Fair, April 16, 17 & 18. There will be eight Peruvian horses going to the fair for a breed demonstration. A sign-up sheet was discussed for anyone who would be able to sit for an hour at a booth or with the horses to discuss the Peruvian breed, or gaited breeds of horses. Please let Jackies Pues know if you would like to be added to the list… Jackie.a.pues@gulfstream.com.

Cindy Lemke, also suggested going to the, www.midwesthorsefair.com website, and if you volunteer three hours a day of your time, you will get free admission to the horse fair. It’s a lot of fun.

Memorial Day Parade, Depere, WI, Monday, May 31, starts at 10:00 a.m. and setup time for horses is at 8:00 a.m. The staging area is the same as last year. Not sure of the club members who will be participating in this event at this time.

North Star Club Trail Ride – Discussion on a club trail ride for possible June, 2010, at Machickanee or at Acres for Recreation. Sue Wallrich, will be the club trail boss for this event…sue@wallrich.com.

Sue Wallrich read a letter on Red River Riders races and trail riding auction and all proceeds go the Red River Riders Therapeutic Horseback Riding for the disabled. The event is on March 27, 2010, at the Coral Bar, (Shawano area) at 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anyone interested in attending this fund raiser, please e-mail Sue W. at sue@wallrich.com.

The club meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m. as we all were looking forward to the club auction/fund raiser. John Mondus, Auctioneer, did a wonderful job of presenting each item. This was definitely a great highlight of the evening with many of our fun members getting what they bargained for as they bet their savings on the best of the best bargains. A lot of laughs and a great time.
